Born in Washington State, USA in 1948, Myron Myers has a Bachelor in Fine Arts/Music from Seattle University (1970) and Master of Music degree in voice from the University of Southern California (1972). He took master classes at the Franz-Schubert-Institut, Baden-bei-Wien, Austria in 1978, with Hans Hotter, Kim Borg, Erik Werba and Elisabeth Kallina. During this time, he met Anne Mertin, Christian Ofenbauer, Ingomar Rainer and Benno Schollum. He returned to Vienna several times to sing with Ingomar Rainer and Studio da Camera, memorably in a production of "La serva padrona" directed by Anne Mertin for the Carinthisches Sommer music festival in southern Austria.

Myers made his professional debut with Roger Wagner and the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 1975 and since then has appeared with orchestras of Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Indianapolis, Buffalo and Grant Park. He has been a featured soloist under the leadership of leading maestros Robert Shaw, Leonard Slatkin, Lukas Foss and Raymond Leppard. He recently made two tours of Europe with the Robert Page Festival Singers. Operatic roles include Sarastro, Rocco, Don Alfonso and Ramfis, performed with companies across the US.

Mr Myers is featured in the recording of Marco da Gagliano's early opera "La Dafne" made with early music ensemble Musica Pacifica for ABC records, which received a Grammy nomination as well as the Record World Critic's Award. He is soloist on two Telarc recordings with the Atlanta Symphony under Robert Shaw, and with Music of the Baroque in Mozart's "Mass in c". He made the first recording of the collection of settings of James Joyce's poetry called "Pomes Penyeach" for Musical Heritage Society.

Since 1980, Myers has been Professor of Voice at Northern Illinois University, and since 1998 adjunct Professor in Voice at Chicago Conservatory of the Performing Arts, Roosevelt University. He returned to the Franz-Schubert-Institut as Artist in Residence in 2001 and taught in 2003 in Urbania, Italy at the summer opera course called La Musica Lirica.
